Officially, Linksys does not support bit operating systems Been doing this since before there even WAS Windows, and it does it to me every time. How did you resolve it. This is my educated guess for what it is worth, I see that it is being recognized just not getting past something blocking it. It worked fine in my Vista Home Premium 32 so it should work right? I found this thread in the linksys forums, and am trying to get the driver that someone has created. Just wanted to add that I am working with Windows 10 not 8.

I heard about the Ralink option, but the only drivers I could find were for 64 bit, but I’m running 32 bit, and the ralink Windows seven has done a fantastic job with suppling drivers for most hardware. I believed the hype, waited to buy a new computer until 7 came out.

The only available driver for your adapter is for XP and will have to be installed in compatibility mode. I have updated the Linksys Wireless-G USB network Adapter with SpeedBooster, with no spesdbooster, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver it is recognized in the network and sharing, as I stated in the beginning it has a red X and will not connect.
You can also place the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it works fine. If anyone has wireles-g specific bit driver for Windows XP, Vista, or 7, please let me know so that I can try to install it and get my device up and working properly. I have looked through other forums and googled certain search results to find that other versions of windows XP, Vista, and all have had issues with the WUSB54GS product in their respective bit configurations.
My linksys wireless adapter worked fine in the 32 bit mode, the driver will not install in the 64 bit OS.
